Today’s post is on one of my skincare holy grail products that I encountered this year. I’ve been using Cetaphil Skin Cleanser for the longest time but Sebamed Cleansing Foam is what I swear by now! Read on to know what changed my mind and why I think this is the best cleanser for people facing acne and/or clogged pores.
Price: INR 580 for 200 ml
During the sale, you can find it for INR 520. I got mine from Nykaa.
The cleanser is also available in a 50ml bottle that retails for INR 322 which is perfect if you want to try it out and see how it works with your skin.
I researched about the brand and its animal testing policies but I’m not able to come to a conclusion whether it’s cruelty-free or not.
However, they do have a Sebamed China website.
Edit: Sebamed is not cruelty-free
It comes in a white, opaque bottle with pump dispenser. The container is very sturdy and high quality, you can feel that luxury by holding it in your hands. Since the bottle is opaque, you can’t actually see the quantity left.
The very convenient pump dispenses the product properly and the well- built bottle makes it travel-friendly.
Texture & Smell
This is a foaming cleanser that doesn’t lather at all on massaging. It doesn’t have added fragrance which is a big plus because it’s extremely difficult to bear those artificial scents.
Allegedly, fragrance is the #1 irritant as claimed by FDA.
No smell no fuzz just a standard skin cleanser that does its job well.
Product Description & Directions
How Does It Work?
I started using it in September and have faced no problems with this cleanser yet. It’s a crucial part of my skincare routine and I use it twice a day – morning and evening. Post rinsing, it leaves my face squeezy clean and as soft as a baby’s bum. It feels like I’ve just applied moisturizer on my face.
It balances the pH of the skin (Skin’s pH is generally between 4.5-5.5)
The formula is extremely gentle and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin in any way. This cleanser is going to last you a good number of months and is something I’d recommend to everyone with combination and oily skin type.
It’s unlike any drugstore cleanser that I’ve tried! Except for winters, you (Talking to my oily-skin team) can use this alone and directly apply SPF; no toner or moisturizer is needed. Why? Because it already balances skin’s pH and doesn’t dry it out.
Works really well on mild acne, blackheads and whiteheads. After every wash, my skin looks very clean and not at all bumpy. In my opinion, By Wishtrend Acid-duo cleanser works better when it comes to problematic skin due to the presence of BHA (anti-bacterial) and PHA (gentle exfoliant that removes dead skin cells). And it’s also cruelty-free unlike Sebamed.
It’s not very effective in removing makeup, you have to double cleanse!
I need one pump for my face, massage it lightly after splashing water on my face, keep it on for 3 minutes and rinse off.
If you’re someone facing acne, blackheads or whiteheads, or just looking for a good cleanser for your oily skin, this is what you need! Since this is very gentle and isn’t drying at all, it might work well for people with dry skin as well.
