Let’s talk about my all-time favourite DIY face mask. If you’re an Indian, you have grown up using Fuller’s earth and rose water in almost every skin situation. This one is really easy to make and leaves your skin fresh and squeaky clean. Ideal for people who have oily, acne prone or blemished skin.
What do you need?
- Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti)
- Tea tree oil
How to use it?
Take a spoon of Fuller’s earth in a bowl
Add 2-4 drops of tea tree oil (This totally depends on your skin’s sensitivity. You can add more if you don’t have sensitive skin. This quantity works for me.)
Add rose water to make a paste.
The consistency of the paste should not be too thick or too runny. Just enough that it doesn’t drip off your face or too difficult to apply because of being very heavy.
After it dries (15-20 minutes), I prefer to take some water and massage my face, it works as a great exfoliator, and then wash it off.
I then use a toner to calm my skin, followed by a lightweight moisturizer. Do it in the evening or at night, when you don’t have to go out immediately.
Results I get:
- It sucks off all the dirt and impurities from my face.
- Skin feels soft, fresh and clean. Like you’d want to keep moving your fingers on your cheeks (which you shouldn’t!)
- There’s a visible glow, and acne dries up to quite an extent.
- Acne scars start to fade after regular usage.
If you don’t have tea tree oil, you can use lemon instead. Use 2-3 drops, it works just fine and would give similar results.
It’s a DIY mask so you can change or add a few more ingredients according to your skin’s needs but these 3 are all I need for complete detoxification.
I try to use it twice a week (New formed habit, I am becoming quite regular nowadays!) And the results are visible on my skin.
